I'm not sure of the answer to that question. I guess in some ways it inherently cannot be. This video gives a brief evaluation. I can't quite put my finger on it but there is something about this video that I find odd. Let me know what you think about the video and if using a BBQ can be green in any way.

Nothing is environmentally friendly, nothing, anyone that says differently is full of crap. The solution is to kill half the monkeys on the planet, there is just too damn many of them.
I haven't BBQ'd for years, but I do a lot of cooking on campfires. Them trees are renewable ya know. Besides, I use cut up wood pallets that the beer distributer discards, they may as well get used for something.
Now get yourself a bottle of wine and go sit on a rock at the beach and watch humanity destroy itself cuz you can't stop it anyway.
Hell, take a gun with you and pop off fat chicks, do the world a favor and have some fucking fun, you don't have enough fun !!!!
