Self Extinction by Agriculture

Came across this article today and thought I would share it with my readers.

Self Extinction by Agriculture

I was hungry until I read this. Organic foods are great, but I feel the price must come down for more people to make the switch.

I certainly don't want pesticide-laced foods, but I have to agree with you about the price of organic foods. A question: If an item can be washed thoroughly, does that get rid of the pesticides? For example, I live on broccoli, and it's pretty easy to scrub down.

I think broccoli is actually one of the hardest vegetables to remove residue from. There is a product called the Lotus that claims to remove all the pesticides and residues from fruits and vegetables.

Oh! Thanks so much for telling me that! Gulp. I actually have been buying (horribly expensive) organic broccoli lately, and it is tasty, I must say. You know, now that I think about it, I can see how it's hard to remove pesticide from broccoli, for the same reason it's fun to eat - those little florets just soak up buttah, and hence, I imagine, pesticides.
