Air travel has become a significant contributor of GHG to the atmosphere. However the Silent Aircraft Initiative (SAI) is taking steps to make air travel significantly more fuel efficient and quiet. The BBC and the Guardian each have articles about the plane. It looks like it is a long way off but a positive development. The photo is from the SAI page.
