We are all waiting for electric cars to drive off into a carbon reduced utopia. The key element is the batteries in the cars. Conventional wisdom would say that over time the batteries would get cheaper, more efficient etc. Read this article from Seeking Alpha and it doesn't look like it is happening.
Despite the economic and financial elements to the reason we are not seeing the breakthrough in battery price and technology we have a bigger problem. Relying on technology to save us from ourselves is a position that will lead us in the wrong direction. There is nothing wrong with using technology to help us but we need to realize it is a tool not a solution.
