The End of Food is a book written by Paul Roberts, also the author of the end of oil. An excellent book review can be found at Grist. I have heard Paul Roberts talk on the radio about his book and this book review fills in more details. I eventually plan to read the book itself but in the meantime this will do.
The book review highlights many good points from the book and we all need to be mindful of how food gets to our table. In a global economy almost everything we buy impacts people around the world and we need to be conscious of what we're doing. Local food may be the answer to part of the problem but we can't rush madly into one plan because we don't like what is currently in place. If food is becoming the next oil then we're in for some serious changes.
