9/11 Toxic Legacy

The terrorist attacks of September 11th are continuing to claim casualties from the dust and burning materials during the clean up. There is still some speculation as to what was in the air after the attacks and whether they caused diseases and cancers. The CBC website has a whole section and a documentary entitled 9/11: Toxic Legacy. There have been other documentaries and congressional hearings. I feel that burning computers and everything else would create some serious pollution when combined with all the dust, debris and asbestos was a deadly mix. The sad part about the story is that some people who worked at the site as part of the cleanup are now suing for insurance coverage to help them with treatment. Hopefully this gets resolved and accurate, complete reports about the pollution from the attack and the impact on people in the area are provided.
