Who Killed the Electric Car?

There are many conspiracies surrounding the demise of the EV1. I haven't seen the movie yet but the trailer and the title will give you a pretty good idea if you don't already know what it's about.

For a different perspective on what killed the electric car read this post at CNET. The reasons given in that post are logical. I just wonder why GM doesn't bring the EV1 back. In today's market they could probably kill the Prius and Toyota and Honda's perceived green advantage. I'm hoping the smaller electric car makers like Th!nk and Tesla are able to get a daily use car on the market soon.
