Roadmap without the cars

Environment Northeast is an organization that addresses environmental issues in New England. Recently they released a "roadmap" for reducing climate change in Eastern Canada and the New England states.

The summary is 71 pages and the complete report is 240 pages with a 24 page appendix. The links take you to PDF files.

I haven't had an opportunity to read it but a scan of the summary's table of contents indicates 10 priorities. They are broken down into 3 categories: Energy, Transportation and Sequestration.

The report sounds great and they have an excellent chart that outlines how to address the priorities with either legislative action, R&D and education or through financial incentives for the programs they've identified for each priority.

I have also been doing some reading on contrary opinions to climate change and other environmental issues. The arguments are interesting and compelling in their own way. Regardless of your opinion on climate change pollution and waste should be eliminated in the interest of health, economics and preserving resources for the future.
