Environmental Political Developments in Canada

I have been noticing an increase in political discourse surrounding environmental policy lately. This seems to have skyrocketed after the Dion leadership win as he has managed to become the "environmental leader" without actually doing anything. Now, nobody wants to get outmaneuvered. We have the Minister of the Environment explaining how consumers can curb climate change, an NDP-Conservative joint effort on the environment and polls showing Canadians are concerned about the environment until they actually have to do something about it.

The environment will be an election issue in Canada. Will anything change is a different story. We are all aware that people will say anything to get elected.
