This video is with Graham Hill, founder of TreeHugger, and he talks about things we can do everyday for the environment. Watch it and share your opinions with me and others to get the message out.
I know a lot of people that think they are ecologists because they recycle a few things. I have to disagree with that.
These people live in fancy homes that they are always 'improving'. They buy new cars every few years, go on trips whenever they like. Are always shopping for things to add to their empires, thinking of course it will all make them happier.
One lady that I thought was an ecologist recently bought a BMW SUV. Hello? That is nothing more than an ego trip. I keep my rigs for ages, until they are ready to be recycled, they are just a way of getting around and my ego doesn't need a Cadillac, I turned down the offer of a free one a few years ago.
It is my opinion that someone that over consumes and is always shopping can't be considered an ecologist just because they recycle a little.
It's over consumption that is hard on the planet. I got so tired of working for rich people, remodeling, painting, things like that that I took an early retirement.
Their ways just bothered me too much. Especially when they would have me do something, decide they didn't like it, have me tear it out and redo it, that was very upsetting to me.
I remodeled my place with as much used items as I could, and I'm okay with that and thankful to have it.
The camp trailer I'm restoring will have a lot of used items in it, good things that others rejected.
The double pane windows I'm installing I got for five bucks apiece at the lumber yard 'bone yard'. Works for me. I should do my own post on this subject.
I'm glad that you would show a video about what we can do for the environment. In the mean time we have Olympic runners trying to find ways around the problem instead of dealing with it.

I think you have made an excellent point BBC. Because of the reasons you mentioned we are in the state we're in. Hopefully more people realize the impact their waste and consumption has on the world around them.
