Can you believe raw sewage is still dumped into our lakes and rivers? It's true. In Toronto raw sewage was dumped into a creek that flowed into Lake Ontario. The inspectors say it is unintentional but it is still disgusting and inexcusable in my opinion.
Now the Sierra Legal Defense Fund has published a report card of Great Lakes cities and their sewage treatment practices. Scary stuff. I don't have much else to say about that.

This is one of the reasons why I won't eat any fish from the Great Lakes. I live on Lake Ontario and never swim in it either. A friend of mine took her dog for a swim last year and hours later it got very sick and had to be taken to emergency. The Lab almost died from a bacterial infection that was contracted from the lake.

Law's need to be enforced and penalties must become more severe.
